There are two wiring harnesses involved in the conversion. The small "Injector Harness" that comes on your engine, and the the main wiring harness that comes with the kit. Below are the three variants of the injector harness plug style. The purple plug matches the provided main harness, however if you happen to have a red style injector harness(left) or white (not shown), you can send your injector harness to us for a re-fit with brand new terminals, seals, and backshell.

 

Purchase the re-fit, then send your harness to us to be rebuilt with a Purple connector.

The red connector is cut off and replaced with a new purple connector and new terminals. We are not performing an inspection of your harness or verifying the quality or fitness of any of its components other than the one connector, although these harnesses never have problems unless they have been cut at the yard.

    fuel harness re-fit

    Haven't tried it yet but it looks good and turn around time was super fast.

    Plug Swap

    So after getting my engine and checking out the deaded red plug knowing I needed the purple, I looked it up and saw that Bostig could do it. I consider myself very capable of doing this, but sometimes peace of mind when Im trying to finish the conversion and start the motor is worth it, I will know its one less thing to think about, whether I did it correctly and all the wires are attached correctly. Overall, a nice convenient service, came back and looked factory so kudos to them for that!

    Easy DIY wiring project

    Even though the description for this states that you should have experience with automotive wiring, I found that despite my total lack of automotive wiring experience, I was easily able to follow the excellent instructions included with the kit and successfully repin my injection harness plug to the correct purple plug. It also gives you an idea of the value of the whole Bostig conversion kit by illustrating a small fraction of the work that goes into your investment. The ECU wiring harness you receive with the conversion kit is obviously produced with a high level skill and care. Every branch to every engine sensor is the perfect length and in a logical order. You will see that the hour you will spend repinning this 16pin plug must pale in comparison with the amount of time it must take to hand make each of the full harnesses provided in these kits.
